Once again, one of the greatest highlights of the year for skaters is the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON. On September 24 – the day before the running marathon – the city belongs to the skaters: 42.195 car-free kilometres through the capital, 250,000 spectators along the course and packed grandstands along the final stretch behind the Brandenburg Gate. In 2016, the largest skating marathon in the world will be celebrating its 20th anniversary with many highlights, including the first ever roller skating category. But lots more is being planned – and you can stay in the know with our newsletter, on Facebook and Instagram.
There is only one thing you need to do in order to be part of the great anniversary celebration: Get your race number in time. It will not be possible to register late.
Stop by the fastest night in Berlin
If the marathon distance is still too long for you or you want to test your fitness on a shorter distance, you can participate in the City Night on July 30, when it is time for “Ku’damm without limits”. The fastest night in Berlin offers the perfect stage for an athletic summer night for beginners, ambitious skaters and kids right in the middle of the city. Cheered on by thousands of spectators on a car-free Ku’damm boulevard, you can either burn the rubber on your wheels or simply cruise around enjoying the city air. Go ahead and give it a try! Sometimes you can learn more during competition than you can in training. More information is available on our website.
