40,000 US Dollar for Charities at BMW

As a member of the Abbott World Marathon Majors (AbbottWMM) - which unites the six most significant marathon races in the world, Tokyo, Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago, New York - the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON donated a sum of 40,000 US Dollar to four charity organisations in Berlin.

Over the course of his incredible career, he was Olympic champion three times, won the World Championships five times, was Cross Country World Champion twelve times and won the Indoor World Championships. Eliud Kipchoge of Kenya is currently the best marathon runner in the world. The 2016 Olympic champion is aiming to run faster at the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON on September 24 than his compatriot Dennis Kimetto who set the world record on the renowned fast course in 2014, stopping the clock at 2:02:57.
