It was the first time for Mr. Katsumi Asada, who is 35 years old and has
done 23 marathon races so far, to win the race with finishing at2.22.43. Since
the race started Mr.Seiji Kushibe, who is 30 years olds, left far behind. Then
Asada had been running with the second group and caught up with the top at
around 39 km. It was at the point of 200m left that Asada rushed to the goal
and finished the race without knowing his win. Ashida is determined to send to
Berlin Marathon to take place at next September as a representative of Lake
Kawaguchi and will challenge to break his own record which is 2.18.22. Mrs. Mai
Aoki , who is 29 years olds, won the women’s race with 2.47.9. Also Mr.
Ukyo Katayama, who used to be a Formula 1 driver for race car and is well-known
as an alpinist, participated in Fun Run with his son and enjoyed the race.
Profile of winner: Katsumi Asada was born in Shizuoka Prefecture on
1996/3/26. 183cm height and 67kg Weight. He was a valley ball player for junior
high school and high school. Then he joined the yacht club of Tukuba
University. His family are wife and two daughters. Asada, who started to run
Marathon 8 years ago because of his broken hurt, was considering himself as 2nd
position of the race when he just passed the finish line. However, the
unexpected word from race staff made him surprise so that he could not say
anything for while. Although he was often said as a tortoise from his team mate
of high school valley ball club since his movement was not so swift, he
sparkled himself with Marathon instead. After the race he said “I thought
that last year was my peak but this makes me change my mind and I will continue
to run Marathon and do my best as much as I can for Berlin Marathon next
September.
