In
1998, the IAAF created the IAAF Golden League, which was developed as a concept
to unify the elite individual Meetings held in Europe.
The TDK Golden League, comprising seven Meetings rich in athletics
tradition, will be held at the height of the athletics season. For competing
athletes, the concept is simple: win your TDK Golden League discipline at each
TDK Golden League Meeting for a share of the TDK Golden League Jackpot of 50
kilos of gold ingots.
The real,- BERLIN-MARATHON once again presents the TDK Golden League of the
IAAF. The TDK Golden League will consist of six meetings and offer a jackpot of
one million dollar. The Jackpot will be shared between those athletes who win
their individual events at every TDK Golden League meeting. To claim the
jackpot, athletes must also take part in the World Athletics Final in Monaco on
18/19 September.
There will be 12 TDK Golden League events in 2004, 6 each for men and
women:
Men: 200m; 800m; 1500m; 400m Hurdles; Triple Jump; Discus Throw.
Women: 100m; 400m; 1500m; 3000m/5000m; 100m Hurdles; High Jump.
