IAAF.org: Lornah Kiplagat runs fastest ever for 5 k road

Lornah Kiplagat who has been nursing an Achilles injury in recent weeks,

yesterday (Sunday 28 March) won the Parellloop (Pearl Run) in the southern

Dutch town of Brunssum in 14:47, beating Briton Paula Radliffe’s

unofficial world best time for the 5km on the road (14:51; 2003).

It is of course the second time in a matter of weeks that the Kenyan born

Dutchwomen has upstaged Radcliffe, who is the World record holder for the

women’s Marathon.
